This skipped quite a lot of important scenes. I read the novel and there should be some more scenes about past that talk about how Ian grew closer to her. She took care of him a hit during the funeral and they also went to meet his maternal grandfather and that scene also talked about his mother who was a commoner. His friend was also there before they talked about breaking their engagement. I don't know if it'll be mentioned later but the Grandfather scene talked about how Ian's mother was a commoner too and since the FL is also a commoner he opposed the engagement because his daughter (aka ML's mother) was poisoned (though no one knows it) because of her origins and he didn't want it to repeat. Ian didn't care though I think. The friend scene was important because he said to his friend who talked about how cute and pretty the FL is that she is like a sister to him. He didn't like her romantically (yet) or maybe didn't realize it.
Tbh I'm worried about that red haired guy more than the twins. He said that if twins are emotionally unstable or anything he might really disappear. That means that everytime twins are hurt he feels the pain too. This reminds me of Yato from Noragami. He took the pain from Yuki's feelings so I really pity him.
