That Skylar's pov is never fully developed like Cirrus' is. There is a lot more we can see behind the scenes in order to understand where Skylar is coming from or what he was thinking in certain scenes.
Also isn't it mentioned that Skylar has anger management issues in the beginning chapters?? Or am I tripping?? Anyways, that coupled with the fact that he is emotionally constipated.....makes sense why he would say what he did. Not saying it's good but when you're hurting you want the other person to hurt worse and sometimes you stoop really low in order to get that result. And say things in the heat of the moment. Why I still feel upset with Skylar is maybe due to the lack of remorse he feels for saying that. Also the lack of regret when he beat Cirrus up last time and they made up by making out
Not saying that Cirrus doesn't have any fault because he does and he was way out of pocket in the beginning. But being beat up and told he was a second choice would have had me fucked up the first time.
