Im still only at ch.26 and i actually really enjoy this, and its not because of just the romance or bullshit but how they make me sympathize and love the MC. I love his insecurities, how he knows his weaknesses but cant seem to put into actions on how to fix it. The reality of being a worker and student, how he sees the gap between himself and others and that inferiority complex like he doesn't deny any of his feelings, just dwells on them a lot. A good portrayal of “i dont need to be in debt, getting raped, sexually assaulted and etc. to be a tragic/sad character” i know i feel for characters that have been in those circumstances but the rape and debt trope is always everywhere that its mostly being used for fetish content now when they claim their character is tragic and still romance their mc and abuser.
Our mc isnt alone, he doesnt have to do all the work himself but he still does because he hates owing people and we see that along the way. He still gets along with people and is still confident and knows his rights as a person. He gets panic attacks from his trauma that is always evident in the chapters, he is torn from guilt about dating a brother figure, someone he grew up with but isnt really his blood. People wouldnt see an issue with it but he does, he feels and knows that its wrong and he crashes out because of it. Oh my god i hope it doesnt get butchered in the later chapters this is so fun.
This manga was one of my favorites because the bdsm, preparation, consent and romantic build-up was so lovely but they just…turned it into this. I understand hwayoungs issues earlier on about wanting to hurt gyuwon further because thats his kink and drive but they were slowly fixing that with trust and practice but then you tell me gyuwon, a person that trusts hwayoung a lot, protected by his fucking powerful family decides to do a mission, not tell hwayoung anything at all and just leave? Like i get it hes worried for his safety but he has fate on him like in the earlier chapters, he knew he can handle himself.
Do you really think you can convince me that gyuwon walked away, with a deadpan face while hwayoung had his feet bleeding profusely and running after him. My sweet baby wouldve never, he was a mercenary idfc but he loved hwayoung. Hwayoungs decision too, he was a professional, youre telling me he went psycho and tried to murder gyuwon? Doesnt that basically say his desire was above his love for him? That was his desire talking “if i cant have you, nobody can” move, it doesnt stem from affection but obsession. Im sorry im gonna reread the final part because in tweaking and genuinely confused why this happened.
Literally this , I couldn’t quite put into words why I was so upset but it’s becuase guywon would never harm / make Hwayoung cry literally that scene when he was begging him not to leave brokeeee meeeee ,
I also have to re read the last couple chapter I’m still in disbelief and just so upset wtffff was this ending ;-;
@shiki I replied already in that post and unblocked you already a while ago but its saying your settings aren't letting me reply to you, which means you probably blocked me as well. I have sent an apology and it seems like we had a misunderstanding on the last part, I'm not saying that every media with graphic content that someone likes describes them as a person entirely. I was pointing out those who actually do only read those types of things and get off to it, and believe that rape is a necessity for character development. I said if you're one of them then you suck, if you aren't then you aren't.
Sure fiction and reality are far apart but some fiction can influence others to support real life actions. Sometimes even fiction wants their audience to be relatable and that relatability is what makes it close to reality in a way. Why do you think people get attached to fictional characters? We enjoy the story, we relate and we care and cry for them.
Once again I'm sorry for lashing out and mistaking you for a Joo Jaekyung fan (they cried a lot in my messages and sent death threats before, even in other websites), I will still stand by my opinion that Dan deserves better or that Joo has to really get better as a person and not just as a romantic partner to Dan if they're gonna end up together.
Honestly I’m gonna be straightforward, if you like this story and if you like the ML, i will be seeing you as person who tolerates rape and believes that’s it’s needed for a relationship to spark. Rape in BL is so damn normalized that it’s disgusting. And honestly I’m more than happy to be such a bitch to people who defend the ML. On a real note, for the ML who are rapists, I would need their character development to start with them dying and getting reincarnated
And I read your whole comment, deadass you shouldn’t have apologized. I would’ve been such a bitch towards people who are even try to defend a story. I could care less if their feelings get hurt, those type of people NEED a reality check, because it those type of people that are the reason rape continues to get normalized in BL because they enjoy and the writers see that and how popular their story gets.
Btw i like the story, im sorry like not in a way that i enjoy the assault and rape but like its addicting, trying to figure out what happens next in their lives and career. Dan is such a kind person that makes me think when is he gonna snap while Jaekyung is a walking dynamite and makes me think will he ever change or something. Its so curious

The character ive been crushing on for so long cant just die like that…fuck man
