what I understand is they will regenerate again and again. so either they painfully meet endless pitiful ending or escape.
the dreadseeker mostly are in the sea, so they probably drowned if they are not inside. they will lose their memory if they swallow sea water, if they swallow too much. they ended up becoming a brainless being and turned into rock statues on bottom of the sea.
if they got pulled out from the sea, they will regenerate again as human. and if they wanted their memories back, they need to touch items from living world.
