You can’t throw the first punch even if it’s to defend someone else. I will say though, Korea is really bad at policing gay discrimination and hate crimes. Usually, a good cop would urge the original assailant to drop all charges because in the court of law, no judge in their right mind would prosecute a human defending their possibly blinded lover over a person who threatened one person and assaulted their lover. With that many people willing to testify, it’s an open and shut case. The main issue is that this isn’t a civil matter, it’s a criminal one and is treated as 2 separate cases since it wasn’t our wounded baby boy who hit doucheface. If he was the one to hit him, it’s self defence but since it was technically third party, it’s assault. The law FUCKING SUCKS for doing that but it’s to stop people from ganging up on people. I just hope that bitchface either got caught on camera or drops the case or both!
I understand the way they voted. I too would have voted with them since I understand why the law exists. The people outside are important since they bring back supplies and if one of them were to die, a villager would have to take their place. In order to maintain status-quo, they set aside provisions and medicine for those on the outside aka the hounds. In order for villagers to be safe on the inside, they need to make it worth it for the hounds. It’s an exchange like we do with our military and their discounts. That’s the part I understand.
What I don’t get is the bat. I can’t tell if it’s because they don’t want weapons in the camp so that no one can kill each other or if it’s cause gyuwon WANTS to feel every hit so he can continue to value a humans life accurately or if it’s cause he enjoys it or what. My best guess is that gyuwon uses a bat as a deterrent to others and himself. It’s brutal and slow and painful and he himself has to deal the blow so he himself is forced to confront the life he’s taken. It’s not like a bullet where you’re detached from your victim. You literally feel every single hit you land because at some point, you crack and break the skull and then you’re sinking deeper into flesh. It’s gross and bloody. Having everyone (adults) watch is like how many countries used to have public executions. This is all just speculation tho. I have no idea why he actually uses a bat.

Yeah in a world like theirs this should be the norm. Supplies are limited and not being replenished by factories and people that fabricate them. So finding medical supplies is harder than everything else. You can always make food but medical supplies? Nah they are super scarce...I understand why the father did what he did I do not blame either or. There were reasons for what gyuwon did. Specially the public execution. It's a simple example of actions have consequences and reasons and reasonings
I mean even in our world. In the military, it’s also like this. You don’t take medicine or food without express permission. Even hospitals have to carefully log the medication they use because they have a limited supply given to them. It’s everywhere. The fact that he’s against it is in a way him being an ineffective “peacekeeper”. Like people who glue themselves to the road. It’s not actually changing the system nor does it actually challenge the mindset of the masses. It’s just something they do to feel more righteous while completely overlooking the necessity of the current situation as well as the feelings of those who are forced to be the bearer of responsibility. I hope he apologises to gyuwon. You can see he didn’t wanna do it and he even hit himself as punishment for not being stricter and allowing this sort of insubordination to happen to begin with. Had the dude asked gyuwon, he might have given permission and taken personal responsibility from the dad if a hound needed that ration of medicine. It just sucks.

If the author actually bothered to read the manga or watch the anime, they would know Levi is the furthest thing from submissive even for a soldier. In fact, he disobeys direct command on so many occasions it’s a mystery how he wasn’t court martialed. He doesn’t even trust Erwin, he just respects his position. As lovers, Levi is more decisive and Erwin is more permissive cause that’s their original dynamics. Levi also wouldn’t be caught dead being carried. Unlike canines, they aren’t pack animals but they do like to groom each other, they normally just like to ef off at the end of it. He’s literally saying he wants cohabitation (a thing literally no cat does lightly) and since they would be sharing one territory (tigers are more territorial), they would also share a litter box! Quite literally merging scents! Cats that don’t have a really good connection usually won’t share a litter AT ALL because the smell literally says “stay away this is mine” when they dislike each other. This is so nuanced it’s great! Also double meanings are fun!

It’s not that it’s going to be worse for him or dangerous for him, it’s just that you’re gonna have to tag along for everything and be literally on him at all times so you’re able to give contact radiation at a pin drop. According to ML's flashback during the session with mind reader esper, I don't think he hated him. He is like denying or hiding his feeling because he is afraid that MC will end like his loved ones. Plus there's no way he will ask him 4 hrs guiding session everyday when he is S rank if he hate him
I so knew it was coming and I hated every single microsecond of it. Why didn’t a single one of those people trip the bastard up? Just stick your foot out. That’s all that needed to happen but no. Now my baby that I hated at the beginning and now love with all my heart and soul is bleeding from either his head or his eye and I’m crying cause I gotta wait another week for an update ╥﹏╥
What’s worse about all of this is that MC wasn’t actually ever given time to grieve the past ML. As soon as he found out about the accident, he rushed to the hospital and it wasn’t until ML woke up and couldn’t remember who he was that he lost past ML. In his mind, he lost him twice. Once when the accident happened and death was a possibility and the second time when the amnesia came to light. From that day on, he was standing by ML and helping him cope while dealing with his ailing grandma. He literally never got a single second to properly grieve and every single time he tried, ML got upset saying “BUT THATS NOT ME!” completely overlooking that that’s precisely why he’s grieving to begin with. It’s like falling in love with one twin and that twin dying and the other twin saying “how about me?”. It’s not the same no matter how much they look alike and sound alike. They aren’t the same person. He lost his grandma and his lover to basically the same condition and he alone is trapped by memories and the inability to grieve since he still has to face them both every single time and have a smile on his face since it’s “not their fault they can’t remember”. Everyone forgot that it’s not his fault either. He didn’t cause the accident or the Alzheimer. I’m glad they are separating for now. None of this was fair on him and he needs more than anything to grieve properly for both his grandma and his lover and to fully accept that they are gone and won’t be coming back again. They may still have their corporal bodies but they aren’t here anymore.
Anyone who is hating on MC for acting this way should be ashamed for judging a barely adult for struggling with something not a single one of us would have handle poorly let alone well. A lot of us wouldn’t have been able to survive this situation let alone somehow get through day by day. Give the kid some grace and cut him some slack.
Yes! And also, it’s an added pain, to feel like the past ML wasn’t even really real. Because a lot of things turned out to be lies, like liking grapes and stuff. And of course It’s nice that ML didn’t want to be rude, or to disappoint. But in retrospect it can hurt to find out he wasn’t really honest. And can make you think “what else did he lie about just to make me feel good?”
And actually that’s the thing that I find a bit painful in this chapter, that the more honest and “real” version of the ML is the one getting rejected. Of course, I don’t blame the MC in this situation, but it’s sad.
(And I don’t blame ML in the past, It’s usual kid stuff, to want to appear better for someone new, and even more, for your crush, and make white lies)

I don’t find the white lies to be painful and MC didn’t either. The grapes lie hurt only cause he didn’t realise why he was lied to. He was lied to because his grandma did her best. He lied to protect grandmas heart. That was a beautiful reason to lie. Other things he “lied” about was because his lover liked them and he wanted to enjoy them with his lover. He did like them but he liked that his lover liked them. In a way, he didn’t fully lie. Both ML are the real ML. But only one of them was in love with MC and it’s not the new one.
