i really loved the art style improvement throughout the story! i also thank the editing team who put the effort into editing this! it's been a long time since i've read any supernatural (?) stories, so this caught my attention and i didn't regret reading this.

I felt the same way. I don't it's necessary 4 that slap. The slap maybe coz of BDSM play that author want to show to us. Their relationship like that.
the slap is a punishment for disobeying his order. I can only assume that it was discussed before and MD can physically punish chanwoo and a slap is also permitted
Wahh...I glad read ur response. Everyone just said MD started be abusive partner. I even delete my main comments coz my response not directly to BDSM play make some one ask that I familiar with BDSM. It's not that I don't know about that. It's just my response relate to their characters to mental diseases which is sadistic & masochists which is abnormal one. I still remember Chanwoo is abnormal one because he never get enough with just mild & moderate BDSM play. He was just craving more for MD do more severe BDSM.
Otherwise I think, what u say it's true coz MD had 2 disciplines now. So the punishment it's not like u have BDSM like one to one (like before). I thought that's why MD don't like have a sub more than one when he play BDSM. Looks like he abusive his partner.
i don't know how much you know about BDSM but here's my take (it's gonna be long). MD is being manipulative, that's for sure. Doms have some sacred rules that they prefer not to break no matter, him breaking the rule of only having one sub is already telling that he has a hidden agenda which is to make chanwoo feel threatened about being replaced by another sub. Chanwoo seems to value his D/s relationship a lot, to the point where he still wants to keep it even if he's dating someone seriously.
So yes, MD is being a manipulative bastard and i expect a good redemption story if the author wants to save his character. The slap tho was totally justified, it seemed to make a lot of people uncomfortable because we readers have never seen it before. True MD and chanwoo have done a lot of impact play (extreme ones too) but a slap is considered by many Doms and subs as a degrading gesture (for humilation plays) or a punishment for when your Dom is disappointed in you.
Yes, the context is toxic but the act is still justified and chanwoo can use his safeword and walk out at any moment (even with what MD said about how he will not be his sub anymore if he does, that's still totally within his rights).
I have no doubt that at this point chanwoo might hold some kind of attachment to MD (he's his first Dom and tho for some it seems like BDSM is just some kind of kinks to spice sex, for people in the community it's an important part of your life and you respect at the very least a partner that you have spent a long time with). I hust hope that the author won't botch chanwoo's feelings into a make belief love for MD.
