I am so happy for MC and Haku for finding each other. Im so proud of Haku for not turning into yokai despite all those years waiting in the shrine. Im glad that when the MC left the world, Haku's connection with him was so strong and sweet, that he did not spiral to despair and became a yokai. I think it is quite rare to meet a person whom you can really connect to, y'know. Im very happy, same thoughts with him, as he disappeared in that form.
However, I was not impressed with the rape in the first chapter. It was really unnecessary and just leaves a bad taste. Is that some kind of marketing strategy? To reel the readers in? With rape? That was the only blemish in this otherwise wholesome/lonesome manga. *sighs*

I remember reading this alongside Acid Town. Both have greaaaat plots. With great plots comes great patience, I guess. I gave up on AT but I checked just now and it actually got updated last Feb. Wow. And it has the same chapter count as Saezuru at 52.
Came back to this manga after a year just to be disappointed. I even had a comment saying something like... for a mafia BL, it's rare to not have rape/SA. Just to be slapped with attempted uroxicide, rape and illegal detention the next fucking chapter. I rooted for that fucker to be a decent one, at least to his partner. But I guess, no-rape mafia BL is really that hard to come by. They all go down to the same rabbit hole. Did not enjoy it since but I have this urge to finish reading stories I used to like before ughhhh. I refuse to accept the *excuses* justifying his actions. Meh.
