both the novel and the live action are good and worth reading/watching, but there are differences. in the novel most characters are very grey while the drama it's more black/white. there are also some differences in the plot and characterizations, and the love between wei wuxian and lan wanji isn't explicitly stated in the drama, since the chinese government banned lgbt in dramas.

She does die but from the other chapters before the ending it looks like she gets reincarnated, and the ghost guy finds her again in each of her new lives. He also mentions in this chapter (75) That he's seen it (reincarnations) before and in more chapters to come it shows flashbacks of him with her in her previous lives. So its a bitter sweet kind of ending i think he is just looking after the boy from a distance as time passes while he waits for her new reincarnation to appear? Its so tragic ya'll....
I dont like the mc. isnt she just a bitch? dont get me wrong, I am not against diff. partners- so long both parties only want sex. but (dunno) dont fuck your best friend or people who are in love with you. this way you only hurt them.
