I think it has fast pacing. But better to be slpw pace

The story takes place in a world that’s been at war for 25 years, the reasons for it are unknown (we find out why later in the story). Sometime in the past, a girl with the psychic ability to cause explosions was discovered. Since then, the government became interested in how this phenomena could be controlled and used in the war.

Sak (MC) is someone with powers (known as core possessors). He attends “the school’ which is a government institute that researches these abilities. Sak’s core/power is that his body emits the smell of grass (he also has a strong sense of smell) however it’s seen as inefficient and the other students call him “worthless”.

Suddenly there’s a plague outbreak, and Sak is told by his sunbae Ginger that he needs to find his “caller”. According to him, core possessors and callers have a unique connection: The core possessor can sense their caller+feels an intense attachment to them. Meanwhile callers provide the energy that amplifies the core possessor’s abilities (the closer in proximity they are, the stronger the ability becomes).

Ginger tells Sak that his caller is in danger of getting infected so his mission is to bring him back to the school for safety. However in ch 6, there’s a conversation between Ginger and Jesse (from “Moritat”-the authors other work) that reveals there’s an ulterior motive too.

In ch 7, Sak finds his caller (ML) who’s been raised as a child soldier in the war and seen nothing but death and violence. This is why he has an aggressive “kill or be killed” attitude and initially doesn’t trust Sak (for all he knows, Sak could be an enemy/lying/insane). Sak tells him that if his caller catches the disease, he’ll be infected and die too. From this point on, the story focuses on their journey together….

It’s kinda frustrating but I don’t think there’s a definitive answer yet!

As Jesse put it, he only cares about results so for him and Law it seems to be a case of “the end justifies the means”: for example, the various tests that Sak unknowingly/unwillingly went through in order to gauge his suitability for something that will apparently serve the greater good.

Until now it appears they’ve just been pulling the strings, then sitting back and observing while others carry out the work (denial of responsibility if anything goes wrong and/or bc they want to avoid another bad PR incident like what happened with the project in Moritat?). So in S3/S4 I’m hoping we learn more about their motives bc the whole “save humanity by exterminating the infected instead of developing a cure” plan sounds pretty suspicious imo (⊙…⊙ )

He more than that, I read some of the novel and I can’t still understand how his brain works
