A lot of people comment here on how the emperor is such a useless wuss but I think this manhua really showcases ancient china girl power and focuses on how a simple empress must survive within the harem and scheme against them. In a way I see the emperor as a pawn whose use is to just further empower the empress.
This comic has really nice art, I couldn’t help but snap some shots of gumiho-ssi. But is it just me or does it really feel anticlimactic in this point? it doesn’t excite me as much as i thought it would :(
