Maybe her being mentally ill could explain how she behaves in the beginning; when her daughter is nearly killed by a massive dog, defends herself and her response is oh well how could you hurt the poor doggy you should have dodged him. And then the other girl shows up and instead of comforting her own child, who just went through a traumatic event (as far as the mother was aware), and she just ditches her to comfort the new child (how did she get there anyway, you’d thing a ducal household is fenced in or something). Mother really is messed up in this story.

Right. Normally, a mother will ask her daughter first if she's fine. Second, that girl with a dog wandering inside their state should be question and even ended up in jail for trespassing and suspects her of assasination since her dog attack people. Though, I might be concern with the dog too but not the suspicious stranger coming suddenly.

I’m finding it really funny that she treats a random stranger who looks like her dead child better than she treats a child she raised alongside her own kid, who also loved her kid, and who has a personality very similar to said dead child. And yes we can argue that because mc left she didn’t have anyone, but cmon. She could have easily found mc if she actually cared enough. She’s just choosing the easier option here by adopting someone meek and mild and willing to be adopted rather than atoning for her mistakes.

No I mean I see that what’s his name is trying to get closer to her but the fact that it’s been happening for a while and no progress is being made just makes the chapter feel “empty”. It took me about 40 seconds to read through it at most. Feel like the chapters are way too short considering the extremely slow pacing, and an oh I like her doesn’t really make a chapter, well, a chapter for me personally.
In that sense is true, I think I am just accepting crumbles since practically everything I follow is currently like that....but I was grinning the whole chapter tho, cuz they usually do not make that obvious that ml has sexual desires lol
