Had to reread this to remember. So her real dad is Marquis Gilmore (never met before) and Chris is the other black haired vampire interested in her. These two are two opposing factions in the vampire world hence when that bulter dude was saying king of vampires, he was referring to his master, marquis Gilmore whereas Esther thought it was Lord Chris.
