Just then, her eyes focus on movement behind the duke and it's our Duchess, who walks forward giving her the most unbothered look, as she places her hand on the Duke's. And with not so much as a second look, they leave the room as she dies choking on her vile blood.
Just as she dies and her soul descends, she's met by everyone she sacrificed/killed and they let her know that she will spend eternity reliving that pain in a loop, never allowed to move on or be reborn.
Re-reading and I'm on chapter 2, just jogged my memory on how frustrating it was that Louis, being the commander of the Second Chief of Guard, failed to see that all the victims resembled him (￣∇￣") Like, i get that you wouldn't jump to conclusions/guess or want to see yourself as the intented victim but at least realise that you fit the bill

The author is clearly setting a foundation and base for the storyline, sowing seeds for further development and it feels like it will have quite a good amount chapters, if not seasons. "There's no feeling", well of course there isn't, they've literally only just met and both parties are desperate.
