It’s his fault anyway. Justice to the original Penelope, she never experienced this affection and out of all of them, it was her that suffered the most. Also the present ‘Penelope’ is not even the Penelope he had been resurrecting, so basically he should feel more guilty if he had known.

I dont think it’s internal love, Rabbit guy doesn’t love the original Penelope, it was just guilt and a sense of responsibility. the flower appeared (means falling in love) after that time he tested the MC because you can see him in one panel when he was looking at the flower for the first…in barefoot

actually, the current penelope’s (mc) soul is a fragment of the og penelope, which shattered from being resurrected so many times by winter. that’s why her life in the modern world was so similar to penelope’s life, because it’s her soul’s destiny. it’s also why she ‘transmigrated’. it was actually just her soul returning to its original world.

oh and when she was playing the game, she was actually just remembering her past lives/deaths, although in third person

Even if her soul have a little bits of the og Penelope, does that make her the og Penelope? I still think that Mc and og Penelope are separate. Even in the novel, after Mc found out why she was chosen as a replacement to og Penelope, base from the mirror of truth, she still thinks that og Penelope and herself are two different people. (Not that she said this exactly, but the way she interpreted her life in the modern world is her own, whereas the apologies she received from the new world, belongs to the og Penelope)

i guess i just viewed them as the same bc while she doesn’t remember it in first person, she knows the memories of all the previous ‘og’ penelope’s, when even they didn’t have memories of their previous lives (i think)

That could also be true, what if during the time when Mc played as the villainess on the phone, her decision which lead to numerous deaths throughout the gameplay, were the influence of soul fragment. Im not exactly sure, now that I'm thinking about this, it was very vague when the novel said that Mc have a piece of og Penelope’s soul.

ohh that’s a good point!! that would make a lot of sense if her choices were guided by her past memories.. i also feel like there’s little to no info about the game itself. it was supposed really popular in the modern world but i feel like mc was the only one playing it in actuality and like the game and the system are from god or smtg
