I get what you mean, but i feel like the mc confessing is shows his improvement in communicating what it is he wants from this relationship, which he never really did and although ml actions following intimate gestures wasnt the best, i feel that if he confessed our mc would still be suffering from an inability to say what he wants which could burden the relationship and his emotional health. I would have loved if the ml confessed ngl, esp if he just went home instead of running away. But since mc had been the one to mostly 'run away' in fear of any rejection it's symbolic of his growth
