i came here to see femdom and s&m and i got toxic plot lines, rape, and abuse. this aint bdsm.

i do wonder what your ideal version of this Play would look like? (im asking sincerely what would u have preferred? its not like there's a ton of other femdom comics to compare this one to either...)
i dont think this comic is a proper expression of bdsm or THe Scene. she's not A dom but she is into being the dom. cause she's not doing it either professionally or as a hobby or part of any kind of scene. she seems to have only done this with the 4 people we've seen her have sex with in this comic. im sure she's had other casual sex encounters but its clear her particular flavor of uh S&M play is not smth she will do to just anyone. and even those she does it with of the 3, only minho is the one who doesnt explicitly consent to her actions. (yet those 2 keep ending up in the same toxic situation..)
The thing with bdsm is it has many components. i think many here enjoy the domination aspect but when u get into the sadism elements esp wrt pain, humiliation etc then it gets really dicey and unless the comic is shrieking THIS IS CONSENSUAL at you, then people WILL get uncomfortable regardless of how safely its being done (and ofc none of what happened in the hotel was "safe" even if minho consented alot of what went down was just like not hygenic or proper for health reasons and thats even without factoring how wrong it is to do stuff in public where people who are NOT into ur shit can see u fucking or w/e. like...)
that said, the TITLE alrdy tells you this is gonna be Heavy on the sadism. and with some of the comments (not so much yours). i wonder if its that people are not into the heavily sadistic parts of this comic OR they just dont like how its done and otherwise would be into it? i do love the sadism aspect but also dont always approve of how its done in this or other bdsm type comics i've read. so yeah its problematic but i like sadistic femmes and we just rarely get them (also on a shallow note? this art is some of my fave in any comic period). but yeah i continue to wonder how people who by now have read enough to know this is what to expect from this writer, are still doing reading this. im sure ill get accused of trying to silence criticism but idc about criticism its just its all the same boring comment ad nauseum. like ok we get it, its gross and makes u mad....anything ELSE?

i just went into this after being told this was femdom, and after reading the title i assumed S&M play was involved. I understand that my comment is just a complaint, not a criticism.
I'm really not that knowledgable in BDSM, at least not enough to know the ideal; and the times I've read something involving it were merely stories without a plot. On that note, I think this is a well-written story with well-written characters that express complex emotions. The fact that we can get frustrated and annoyed at this is evidence of its effectiveness imo. Just wanted to put this out there.
I just felt uncomfortable with the progression of the story. The boundaries it's crossing and blurring make it harder for me to enjoy the s&m part of it. partly because when my morals get in the way, it becomes less of a play and more of ...abuse and manipulation. And I might continue to be uncomfortable about the s&m parts unless they start talking about setting a safeword and just.. communicating properly.
Aside from the scenes with that teacher guy (which i would've enjoyed if they werent executed like that); The innocent guy contradicting himself just to please the S also contributed to my uncomfy-ness.
I enjoyed the parts with the female M but it's on those parts where the flaws of the S shows. All these partnered with the telenovela-esque drama just made it worse for me.
Maybe I just don't really like BDSM after all. Maybe I'm just hoping for romantic development despite it being fruitless. Or maybe I just feel betrayed by the expectation I had of just having a sadistic fem dominating her partner(s) when instead I got something bordering abuse and shit.
sorry if this doesnt satisfy any of your questions i also just cant really pinpoint things but yeah the art is really well done here and that's part of the reason why I continue to read it.

I've read ones that at least had a safe word. From points of three and even the short scenes of BJ Md and chanwoo in bj alex had it. I cant recall if those were just bondage or bdsm plays but there was at least a clear distinction of consent in those. I'm not holding this to wEsTern standards, because I've seen korean BDSM manhwas that are good and enjoyable.

well i didnt mean to sound like i was interrogating you. when i make replies its with the belief that multiple maybe will be seeing said reply so i try to keep them addressed to a larger uh audience? than just you specifically so i wasnt targeting your complaint or trying to make u justify yourself. rather it was meant to add to the discussion just to keep the comment section from turning into a constant feedback loop of "this is bad/wrong" because i mean yall arent wrong, it is highly problematic. but it was that from very early on in its run. there is no betrayal of the reader this far into the comic. which is why these flavor of complaint (rather than critique) are just so dull and needless. thanks to gyerin we got a few weeks of reprieve of the constant whining and now its back in full force. i was hoping the outrage would be more colorful this time at least but alas its just more lecturing self righteous pearl clutching i dont want to say whining but thats how it sounds to me half the time. like i have my share of issues with this comic but i do like it, i'd love to actually talk about it with people both its flaws and what bits about it are enjoyable but there's no real room for that here alas. anyway i should prob stop reading the comment section myself but reading comments is also part of the fun of webcomics, esp since i dont have irl friends to discuss or gush about or rant about the webtoons im reading atm. anyway i do enjoy darkness and conflict and boundary pushing etc in my smut comics. and i do mean smut and not necessarily romance. tho my fave comics have a good mix of both. i remmeber enjoying Blood Bank so much cause it was both romantic and sexy and a little dark but not toxic either. its a hard balance to hit and its only fault is the total lack of women in it but thats BL genre for u lol.
if you want something with a Dominant Woman who is not sadistic at all and is in a healthy loving relationship with one person (her boyfriend, also a very sweet boy) then Just Give it To Me will def suit your tastes more. the one downside (which may not even be a downside to u) is that there is far less frequent sex scenes. like alot less. the ones we do get are imo very hot and even sweet at times. so maybe pop by that comic (ppl will still be complaining in the comments ofc but unlike in this comic, the complaints are 99% bullshit and should be imo ignored.) anyway its not raunchy or super kinky (tho later in the run she does peg him which is heh. but those chpts arent released in eng yet)

actually the research in BJ Alex was pretty darn good. like the central relationship between alex and the other guy was very problematic (obv not the same way S beauty is) but it was problematic in the bland and expected way so many smutty romances with that dynamic in play are. it felt like some josei knockoff but one of them is a boy. ahem.
but the bits with MD were great and minus some more extreme bits in the sides (which were prefaced with a disclaimer/warning tbf). it was pretty accurate to what the Scene is. but thats the thing, MD is a pro. he's not doing it for a living but its def a hobby and it is a hobby he has monetized and made a name for himself in. so basically what he does and what doona does arent comparable imo. and sbeauty seems to exist in this weird heightened reality that i cant take all that seriously tbh. with respect to BJ Alex it did for the most part feel very realistic and once it got into the back half and explored the homophobia aspect it became so much more interesting as a story. but that's a topic for a diff comment thread. anyway i agree that BJ MD bits were 100x better executed than the S&M play here but also these comics are so radically different in tone and themes etc that it imo is pointless to compare them. i mean they even correctly named choking during sex as breathplay and then also had a character express that it was a fucked up thing to pull cause its a very dangerous kind of play. meanwhile S beauty has quite a bit of choking...and its not rly taken seriously at all. which IM fine with cause again idt Sbeauty is trying to represent bdsm as a whole nor does it seem to care about reality/consquences, so much of what happens in sbeauty kind of beggars belief like the fact that there is no health complications, injuries, charges filed, cops called, civil suits etc going on in Sbeauty despite the truly wild shit that goes down is how i know this comic cares zero percent about the real world and u know what? fine. lol. that said this is why i prefer comics that goes uh Hard as Sbeauty does to be set in a fantasy world or au type history settting. its easier to just shrug and be like WELP in those situations haha

There actually are a ton of Femdom comics to compare this one to they just aren't on this site they are on Nhentai. Imo the only thing Sadistic Beauty has going for it is the art and the Minho and Doona rape scenes.
Some good Nhentai Femdom imo are
Eses to S
Egos To S
Crazy Girlfriend
Jikan no Majo
Hajimete no Netorare
My favorite Doujinshi artists that specialize in Femdom are Denchi, Dhibi, Murasaki Nyaa, Hanabi, Doskoinpo, Kabuki Shigeyuki, Piririnegi, Shuko, Hasebe Soutsu, and Bose.

yeaaah im familiar with those Ryofu and those are...CLEARLY written/drawn by and for men. they arent an ongoing series either. i mean nothing wrong with liking those comics ofc. but also actual dominant women dont put on uncomfortable ridiculous costumes as part of the domination. im not talking about dominatrix. esp one who does it for a living. im talking just sexually dominant women. who may or may not be sadistic. the whole giant boobs in tight top and exaggerated proportions and cutesy face...that's Male Gaze and not actually very fun and sexy to me as someone who is alrdy inundated with sexual imagery produced by men for other (straight) men. But yeah with Doms ur trying to give off a commanding presence afterall. u dont see male doms walking around in skimpy outfits right? exposing skin is partly a form of vulnerability and also enticement.
Basically the tastes the manga u just listed up there are catering to, and the tastes this webtoon is catering to are not the same.
and before i get hit with criticism. absolutely women can enjoy smut written/drawn by men and ofc men can enjoy smut drawn/written by women. but generally the way women (of any sexuality) express, draw, write about or experience their desires is just different from how men do and its most blatant in visual mediums. like where the camera is focused or how the men vs how the women are drawn, its very clear who is being catered in any given panel or frame. just to use the Eses/Egos examples...you never see the guys faces, and their bodies are fairly ordinary. meanwhile the women are plump in all the right places, with gravity defying tits, constant closeups on their asses and crotch and like its very obvious who this is for lol. im bi so its not like i cant appreciate a hot lady but this kind of hotness feels so manufactured for straight men that im just like "ok" lol. again nothing wrong with reccing it or liking it but i think comparing it to Sadistic Beauty is tbh not entirely fair. also bad story or not, Sbeauty does have an actual story and cast of characters to speak of... (i will say, the writer of No Holes Barred is an interesting exception, now ofc they could just be a lady with a very masculine name...) and there are other femdom comics out there in webtoon land but alas they have no eng release. (and only some of them are R rated. boo). one day when im feeling esp pedantic i should write an essay about BL and the female gaze and queerness...

MD being professional? Maybe with other subs but with Chanwoo? Not really. I didn't find his behaviour professional in the slightest. Mixing personal feelings with play? Unacceptable, irresponsible and dangerous.
They had the contract. And he continued play after recording.
The strangling scene? The fact that he participated in play and took his anger on Chanwoo after rejection is irresponsible and could cause severe medical complications. The more that he knew that Chanwoo had problems with limits and was abused in relationships before.
The coercion with other sub scene? Putting ultimatum before play. It's coercion. Even a blind could have seen that Chanwoo doesn't want to participate and professional dom couldn't have seen that? It was so wrong on so many levels. Making him do things with the guy who just betrayed him and used him?
Smh
The rather good representation of BDSM play can be find in Momentum.

I can agree with the art. Imo the only thing that sets Sadistic Beauty apart from the others is Minho. It is rare for Femdom to have a sexy masculine male being dominated. It is usually scrawny bitch ass looking characters like Haesol. Sad thing about Sadistic Beauty is that the pacing is so horrible that even the short series on Nhentai have more character growth than all 106 episodes of Sadistic Beauty and that is kind of sad.

ohhh i get it, i guess i just didnt know about the previous outrage on this comic as i just read it from the beginning up to the latest in one sitting when i commented on it. so i guess i was just echoing the old complaints on it without adding anything new hahahahah
thank you for the rec! i'll check it out

i think if sbeauty was set in a different context, i would def enjoy it more! in a context where it's easier to dismiss the morals lol.
like if you went to read killing stalking without BL expectations, it would just be a great psychological manhwa and you might be able to enjoy it. unfortunately i checked ks out bec of the "bl" content and had to drop it because of the... lack of it. lol
similarly i simply went into this with a different expectation and that wasn't met. as if it was falsely advertised to me shxhshsnx

well tbf i did mean it was a better rep than other comics not an ideal rep. and it does come with warnings before the more extreme things MD does. but i do appreciate ur rage is directed to him as well as the doona types. so points on consistency. it didnt bother me cause its heightened for dramatic effect. fiction is boring if everything is neat and tidy and proper. and again the comic even explicitly says "do NOT mimic this behavior yourself" like u cant get more clear than that. i do think MD overstepped his bounds, that i have no illusions about but thats part of what made it exciting and dramatic. and chanwoo at least acted like a Person over it too. he was angry but also i did understand his pov overall. anyway i wasnt trying to imply MD was the one to model bdsm play after, just that it was alot closer to the real thing than anything in Sbeauty and i do stand by that statement.

the messed up miscategorization of Killing, Stalking as some kind of dark mode BL is so so upsetting to me. cause its actually a pretty decent (if flawed in places) psychological horror story. it was genuinely chilling and the illustrations do so well at capturing this pervasive sense of dread at all times. i wont say i loved it but i respected it as a piece of horror/thriller. when i first tried to read it thinking it was some dark BL...i was HORRIFIED and noped right out of it after 3 chpts. i came back to it a few weeks later with diff expectations and was riveted by it at that point. like Warehouse is an example of a really dark psychological thriller that is also very much a twisted love story between two damaged individuals. it is also sexy imo. and i do buy their love story even if it is insanely problematic. however KS? loooool how ANYONE could look at it and even see a love story when this boys are both clearly traumatized and mentally ill and then the reveal at the end that killer was basically projecting his mommy issues on beom the ENTIRE time. (him shouting out MOM during that one sex scene....*fully body shudder*). like at THAT pont how is this anything but horror? the ending is appropriately depressing but in that it seemed so inevitable and im just like...welp. sorry for this rant. but yeah it sounds like u had the same experience with KS i did and so i wanted to commiserate a bit haha.
and yeah Sbeauty would work better in a more fantastical setting, i thought this from the start. i love wicked women and messy women and vicious women in fictoin and the fact that doona gets to be the protganist is esp refreshing. if it was up to me her relationships would have more love/affection in them and less...cruelty. albeit most of it is directed to minho. she showed alot of indifference to the very sweet gyerin and...im still not sure what her thing with wookyung can be classified as (if anything lol). anyway i stick wish this comci for the parts i do really like and im used to having to settle when it comes to erotica becuz it really hits all my uh boxes but this one gets pretty close i gotta say.

im not sure i can get character growth from a guy whose face i never see once and whose name is never said. but perhaps u meant other manga im not familiar with. anyway aside from that, i do not care for the twinky types i must angree. i think they are beautiful but prefer them to NOT be the cute type in an ero comic (in soft wholesome romances im fine with it completely), like i love what Potion does with her couples albeit thats BL. and most of her best works are not available in english. but yeah the tops are often quite slender and pretty but also vicious while the bottoms are THICK af muscle babes.
Anyway that said, dont S Flower and No Holes Barred also have thick guys with bomb bootys getting dommed? (well not so much with the booty in NHB but i wouldnt call sunhwee a twink...mayebe a twunk? lol) or did u mean femdom in general outside of just the korean webtoons? cause i dont have as much experience with those since as i said earlier the others i found on places like nhentai just aint it for me. (oh if im counting Come here Darling and Missing O those have small/slender boys as the subs to larger women tho in CHD they are practically a throwaway couple they get so little focus lol. and Missing O also treats their dom lady/sub boy couple in a more jokey way than it does the other three. shame)

this whole drama built on one night felt unnecessary. especially when we havent grown with the characters yet, it felt like we were just thrown in the middle lol. like we're just supposed to believe this guy is a good guy or this guy is bad bec of how they reacted to the drama. even the twist was predictable which is fine, im just disappointed in the whole thing. story didnt even build on the instruments i feel baited by the cover art.

i dont like how a lot of characters in yaoi / bl stories deny being gay.. and when they own being gay, they're usually portrayed as bitches or predators gdi

I hate it too! It's as if being pansexual wasn't a thing hagshags like,,, okay, you like him because he's him, not because he's a guy, so that would make you pansexual! I would love if more stories were like that. So far, I haven't seen one manga like that, only webtoons, and I was pleasantly surprised
me laughing at yuyang about his gaydar going off for this new guy only to see the comments with pitch forks ready lol
