I think it's just alluding to the fact his memory has worsen as he takes the pill.
I think the meds mess up his memory, when speaking to the professor he said that he couldn’t organise his thoughts, and now he is being forgetful, the idea that the meds are doing it isn’t too far fetched. Or he could just be a very forgetful person lol, I doubt it though Σ( ￣□￣||)
