At the end of part one, despite what people are saying Evelyn is alive (but yes passed out and weak) and Gil just found something that lets him know that Evelyn did love him. She just acted this way so he’ll be fueled by hatred to “come up to her”, take her down, and become the light of the nation. There’s a flashback where it looks like rowen was pointing a gun toward a passed out Gil and Evelyn gets in front of it so it seems she did all this to protect Gil and “save him” from rowen. We also find out that she killed rowen too so that adds to it. More backstory we don’t know obv. But no she doesn’t die and the story isn’t over!
