I recently finished reading “Painter behind the Curtain”and it was a great read. There is a scene where the painter is being told that his lover only saved him for his own selfish purposes to which the painter answers that
regardless of what he was being told it doesn’t change the fact that he was saved from a bad situation. And that this situation that he’s in is better than the alternative which was to be locked up being forced to work all while being physically and sexually assaulted.
And so it got me thinking about Dan’s situation and what could’ve been the alternative?
He was in a dire situation and only getting worse. Working multiple jobs, loan sharks constantly beating him, and a dying grandmother. And considering how the loan sharks eyed him towards the end, it would’ve been worse.
And without getting flamed in the comments.
Dan was bound to get feelings for Jae even if they started because he felt indebted to Jae. Dan didn’t have anything good in his life, we can argue that’s it’s still not great, but think of the alternative. So I think I’m just trying to say that I don’t want Jae and Dan to separate. Dan’s presence and feelings could save Jae.
Yup, I agree. Jae, even if he's still trash is one of the nicest people to Dan. Other than his grandmother.
The “I can fix him” complex is fake. Just because someone feels indebted towards another person does not arise romantic feelings. That doesn't justify the actions made by Jae and never will. He may be able to reflect on what he has done but he will never be “saved” by Dan. The only thing Dan could do for him his get out. Jae may have “saved” Dan due to his ulterior motives but that doesn't mean Dan should stay.
You said it best yourself “I can fix him” complex is fake that’s why it’s a trope in fiction. It’s making the impossible possible. That’s why we read fiction to escape reality and venture into possibilities that are impossible to have in real life. He’s gonna save him cause it’s a cycle. Jae saved Dan and now it’s Dan’s turn, and he’ll probably leave at one point and Jae will chase. It’s the tale as old as time. And Dan’s feelings of being indebted to Dan has lead to romantic feelings, it’s the fact the he’s constantly thinking about him. The more he’s on his mind the more he cares. Dan is too compassionate and that’s why he sticks around. And going back to them separating at some point could make their feelings more concrete. Dan was left with an empty feeling when Jae didn’t finish having sex with home after the Heesung scene. Have you been in love? The feelings hit you one day. (Seeing what I did there, Jae is an MMA fighter, hehehe). Anyway, I should say thank you for not being mean or using the same argument most people use in regards to this series.

He was a green flag. However, I wasn’t comparing the two tops. I appreciate your input, but I was speaking about the alternative, which was inspired by a scene in the story. It’s like I want to focus on different aspects of story other than the obvious. Mr.Raymond was good but not perfect and the Painter realized that he take Raymond, as he was, because it didn’t change the fact that he’d been saved regardless of Raymond’s reasoning at the beginning. I can make comparisons between the two men now. They both had ulterior reason for taking in the bottoms, but in the process remove them away from terrible situations, however, Jae is crueler so as to attain the attention of the audience since it’s in an over saturated market. Dan is like the Painter, they both fell for the men who helped them out and thru recognize the alternative was worse.
This story to me is a the author’s take on Beauty and the Beast archetype. You need someone to humanize the beast. Dan lacks the beauty’s back bone, which is needed to knock Jae down a couple of pegs.I hoping we get some of that in the coming chapters.
Now just my ramblings. I’d take Jae over the loan sharks any day. They had been harassing Dan and his grandmother since he was young. And you mentioned the rape subject which has been the argument since day one. And it’s not adding anything to the post. You silence my opinions with the term rape. And it’s been done countless other times. I was hoping for something more intriguing. I’m not sure what you mean by the author girl bossing.

I like this story, it fits the Beauty and Beast archetype, and I’m curious how it’s going to go. So I’ve been thinking Jae is going to lose this match. He’s most likely severely underweight, probably starving and weak, and sleep deprived. And his cure all for his jinx is going to fail. And he’ll lose. He’s going to be destroyed mentally and physically. I would like something of a comeback story for him with Dan being the only one at his side.
Or for the reader that want Jae to suffer maybe you’ll get a “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” type revenge. Look it up, great freakin revenge, the satisfaction.

If you read the novel, in the second world it explains why the tragedy happened and it’s really sad... They’ll both reincarnate, in the second world it’s Aeroc from the first world and a Klopp who does not have memories of the first world.
And in the third world, it will be Klopp of the first world and an Aeroc who doesn’t remember the first world.
Volume 2 onwards is not tragic as volume 1. Aeroc is doing better, happier and got an ending he deserves. It’s translated online, volume 3 is almost done.
I’m patiently waiting for Klopp’s turn, I read the mtl and he also got the ending he DESERVES!

I literally just spent on hour on a forum researching this series. The chokehold this series has on me right now is no joke. I really appreciate you for replying sincerely. I've seen this series around for awhile, but didn't have the courage to go through it, even now, the suffering is too much. And as much as I want to think that Aeroc is happy, I can't, I feel that he'll forever live with the looming feeling that he'll wake up and it was all a dream. Forever a feeling of uncertainty. And Klopp's story that one had no closure at all, I'm crying just thinking about it, poor guy....like he loved the Aeroc in that timeline, but would forever remember the one he hurt. I feel just sadness. The first timeline is just too strong.
Sorry to add more but I honestly think "So the good life is his punishment." this goes for both of them, hahaha, I felt no closure. I would love a fourth volume were they both remember.
Yeah, Aeroc still suffers. He still afraid that the second life is just a good dream, and he’ll wake up back in the cabin. I really felt bad for him :(
It would be interesting to see a world where they both remember, but I think Aeroc would just let Klopp do whatever he wants, because of his guilt and fear. Like a prisoner with no will.
As for Klopp, I read the side story lucid dreams. He blames Aeroc for leaving him alone in hell. He’ll never let him go. His interactions with Aeroc in the third world, was scary. It’s like his waiting for Aeroc to do something bad.
The third story was too sad. It really goes to show that it was both a curse to keep their memories from their previous life, but if they didn't keep them then they would repeat the same thing. Also, I find it so interesting the whole imprinting thing. I feel bad for the Alphas in that world, it's like a type of Heat for them, so the violent outbursts are scaring.
I don't if I'm happy with either endings, hahahaha.
Forever feeling gulity. And yes, Klopp got no closure. I'm glad he got his Aeroc, maybe another volume for him cause too much feelings were left unresolved, cause he almost committed suicide, that's what killed me, cause he was ready to join his previous Aeroc. I think all that craziness is from the Imprinting, terrifying stuff. And FIRST timeline Klopp lived so miserably, he payed for his sins while alive, forever sad.
Also, wouldn't you think that Klopp would do anything for Aeroc, too?

Yeah Klopp paid off his sins by living all those years alone. We can only imagine how those years went by. The scene where he was just staring at the cabin, broke my heart.
I wish we get more side stories about the first world, and the third world. I want to see more how Klopp would face his second chance.
They both didn’t really get a happy ending… I keep wanting to see Aeroc heal but it’s still there. The support and love, surrounding him will never be enough. His longing for his six kids too…
