Most likely miscarried cuz the guy wasn't taking care of his health (smoking, drinking, eating shitty cheap meals), also because the MC was stressed and in an awful enviorment. It's really not surprising. Most miscarriages happen due to the baby daddy's health issues, and not due to the one carrying the baby. It's so fucked but pregnancies are a team effort. Can't expect the mother to be the only one to quit smoking or drinking and the father to continue. Then again, I might just be yapping
