I tried reading the novel and it was boring as fuck, tbh I had high hopes for this one but it still managed to disappoint me.
I can comprehend the whole side quest with the monsters and stuff, but it went on so long, and the fighting arc was so painfully dull that I had to drop it. I wouldn’t mind mc’s first partner being evil, if only he had a good reason for that, but it was all bullshit.
I’m not even sad about not knowing how it ends, since it’s so damn predictable even a toddler could figure it out lol

ngl u have a point with the mc’s previous partner. even though i love the novel so much, the latter part kinda gave me the icks, like i cant bear to read most of it, even the side stories. i always stay for the angst and reveal part, but as soon as that is over, I gloss over the end. it just had so much potential that it felt like it should’ve been a normal story netween a mentor and a mentee—bl aspect be damned.
