The emperor wakes up and Rizi tells him that the trial is still ongoing. She's going to find evidence to convict Rose. Lucio is quiet and begs Rizi to not kill her. Rizi is determined to sentence Rose to a beheading. Rizi even challenges Lucio several times (3, I think?) asking him directly if he'll stop her if she has evidence of Rose's wrong doing? Not once does Lucio contradict Rizi. Rizi falsifies evidence and presents it at court. It's "damning" evidence and Rizi is sure of her victory. She asks the nobles present if they accept her sentencing? She looks directly at Lucio one last time to see if he'll interrupt her, but Lucio stays silent. He will not contradict Rizi. Just as Rizi is about to sentence Rose to a beheading, Duke Ephreney (the powerhouse of the nobles and someone Rose blackmail) interrupts Rizi and presents a counter evidence. Due to the contradicting evidence, Lucio as a third party investigate (Duke Vasi is a neutral house) and it's found that both Rizi and Duke Ephreney falsified evidence. Since Duke Vasi found it "inconclusive" the case was thrown out. Because there was no evidence, the worse that happened was that Rose was stripped of her noble title of baronness.
However, there are cracks in Rose's and Lucio's relationship now. Because of the hunting competition and the trial, Lucio realizes that "pure and innocent" Rose that he knows is just an act. He doesn't know Rose at all. Lucio still feels some things for her, but it's not love. It's obligation, guilt, and pity. It's for this reason he asks Rizi to spare her. Not because he loves Rose, but because she was the only person that cared for him when no one else did. He felt he owed it to her to at least save her life for being with him for 2(?) years.
The luxury that Rose later experiences is no because of Lucio. It's because of Duke Ephreney. Rose uses her blackmail to get Duke Ephreney to adopt her into his ducal family. Rose felt she was belittled and humiliated because she was a simple baronness. Well, with the duke's adoption, she's a "princess" now. She's only below the queen, which Rizi reminds her. Even if she becomes a duke's daughter, as Queen, Rizi will always have the highest position of any woman.
I wish I can insert the meme where there's a portrait and three guys pointing at it saying "I've had enough of this dude" but with Rose's face there

I binged the novel in one sitting BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE ROSE DIE. I was so angry the entire time I was reading, rage carried me through my tiredness lol. It was satisfying seeing Rose finally get what was coming to her
love that all the characters were terrible, even Yuji!(no I will not forget that he willingly got frisky with his brother) all trash characters, hated them all
