Hwa is half-lycan and half-vampire but his lycanthropy blood is more dominant, so he will grow old. Remember, he was upset with his parents that he will grow old and die but his parents will forever walk on earth alive and that he was upset about it.
Unlike other half-breeds who are half human and half-lycan, Hwa is half lycan-half-vampire. So he is much stronger than even a pure blood lycanthropy cause vampire strengths are superior.
Because he is half-lycan, he can be in the lycanthropy pack, but because of his vampire blood boost, he can lead the pack.
