Why do people call the Emperor a cheating scum though? Back in the ancient times, it was expected, even encouraged, for the emperors to 'spread his seeds' to his harem concubines, to raise heirs for the throne. Wasn't it expected for Emperors to sleep with various concubines, hence why ladies always fight for favor.
But isn't it normally like that though? She isn't even the Empress, merely a Noble Consort (probably two or three ranks below Empress) So she probably changed so significantly that the Emperor lost whatever feelings he had for her. (I'm not making excuses for her, just that, given the times, it's expected the Emperor did what he did.)
She isn’t the empress, just a noble consort. The distinction is made because her rank is far inferior so she lost the harem game just like that. She got played by the reborn female lead, and the Emperor is a stupid idiot. But cheating, no. Unfortunately, that’s how it was in ancient China. They’ve done worse things to concubines and the Emperors either 1) has no clue or 2) didn’t care cos he’s got three thousand women all ready for him.
Basically he should be judged by how standards were at the time. I never understood why people are complaining that he ‘cheated’.

It also might be because she made so many sacrifices and did so much for the emperor, which isn't really cheating, but it's a reason why people might hate him.
And they were also married for 4 yrs, so maybe that's also why it's cheating? Idk how ancient china worked.

I'm pretty sure it was just a mistranslation, because only the empress can wear red peonies on their robes.
In c2 MC mentions that the pink hair girl (Lui Ruyan) got the MC's family to fall into ruin- the emperor let it happen because he favoured Lui Ruyan. The Arc is her retaliation for the emperor taking her for granted after she got her family and body ruined for nothing.
Can someone recommend ONE Chinese manhua that isn't confusing and all over the place? I'd like to not be lost please.

I'm genuinely happy for the two, after his memories came back. But I felt rather empty at the same time : I felt as if the author skipped a crucial period of character development for Ha-Woon, to reconcile the nasty Ha-Woon of the first three chapters, to the Ha-Woon who realized he loves Wan after getting his memories back. When he recovered his memories, shouldn't he have a moment of self-crisis first? I mean, he initially regarded Wan as nothing more then a bug, and now, when he gets his memories back, wouldn't he be in emotional breakdown finding out he is 1)actually capable of falling in love 2) loving someone he disdained earlier and 3)finding out Wan fed little lies to him?
I couldn't help but feel the reason of 'protecting Han from his brother' seems a cop out, and the author could've explored Ha-Woon's character so much more (perhaps a chapter or two) Because as of now, the Ha-Woon in the beginning and now, coupled with his love and finally remembering the circumstances that made him who he was originally, is worlds different and I can seem to bridge the gap between the two.
But like when getting your memories back all suddenly like that doesn't leave you back at square 1. I think it would be like remembering something you've always known. The feelings are there and they're real but on top of that he also remembers how he really was but but that doesn't mean he suddenly falls out of love or disassociates with this "new personality", it becomes an addition to him. However I do agree we should have seen more of hawoon's internal crisis about finding out the truth and how he really was and how he treated wan.
But either way, I think that from the very beginning hawoon had been interested in wan and they somehow would've gotten together despite hawoon's self fulfilling prophecy act
For those who are interested in Adjest's original dress instead of the ugly dress she wore in the manhwa, here she is:

So I was pretty confused on who Desir's love interest is. Initially I thought it looked to be Romantica, but then, I found out novel readers are saying Desir is leaning towards Adjest. They've shared a lot of romantic scenes, around 2-3 scenes per volume, and people in the novel thought they looked good together, whereas Romantica barely have any scenes compared to Adjest. I'm happy with this though, as I've always liked Adjest.

I know some people dislike the work politics and all, but I found that I gives a sense of realism, on top of delicious sexual tension. I relate to the main character's work optimism so much. Seeing the CEO face slap that bullying manager gives me no end of satisfaction, something I wish would happen in real life, to all workers who's experienced this in their line of work.
The way the CEO then apologized to the main character gives me a sense that this manhwa is going to deal with their relationship in mature yet hot way, and that is something I gladly welcome in the light of all stereotypical yaoi works out there.
