Everyone's bashing Jiho, but I can understand where he's coming from. Definitely not saying what he's doing isn't stupid, but here is some facts to remember:
-He's always been treated like a nuisance/ignored by the group (besides daniel)
-he's the least attractive member of the group, so he's constantly overshadowed by them
-When Daniel is nice to him, everyone goes "oh how nice of daniel" not "oh, jiho and daniel are friends and equals" So he's obviously seen as a charity case
-HE ALWAYS WALKS BEHIND THEM AND NEVER BESIDE THEM.
I really love this manga, and I respect the author's depiction of the ugly girl. I swear most "ugly girls" in manga are typically beautiful girls behind glasses or just girls who don't take care of themselves. I liked how the main character had to work to improve her image (and still does), and despite doing this, she wasn't some drop dead gorgeous girl or anything, but more of a realistic, normal girl.
Also really refreshing seeing her first love not work out. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for them to get together and actually like her first love more than her second (sorry, he's just too much of the typical, assholish male lead) But I'm kind of tired of the whole "if you like this person, you're bound for life--like calm down, they're in middle/high school, not all loves will work out, which this manga gets!. Also great to see some gay representation outside of yaoi (and they didn't make it weird/insulting, yay!)
All in all, a great read.
