Ofc it's all within the means of safety and there are rules and guidelines set between the participatin' members-- but to say "ew gross people who are into this are disturbing" would actually be invalidating a LOT of trauma survivors. This is somethin' 8 years of counseling and therapy has taught me since bein' a CSA survivor left me with a few darker kinks than most.

What annoys me most as a CSA and rape survivor is when people automatically assume somethin' is wrong with people who like to enjoy or explore darker themes in fictional or consensual settings. I went through 8 years of therapy and counseling through my childhood and teenage years and one of the biggest things that was talked about was the fact that due to what happened to me when I was a child I was left with a few darker fantasies than most. We talked it out for years 'cause I actually self-harmed 'cause I thought I was disgusting for whatever thoughts were goin' through my head. I was even invalidated by some of my friends that I thought I could trust and later on cut ties with 'cause of it all. When I was told that the thoughts or kinks that I had were actually commonly practiced in safe spaces and that exploring these kinks through fiction (writing/art) was a healthy and safe way to indulge myself it was only a matter of months before I had my headspace back on track.

Just 'cause I'm not standin' on the rooftops shouting "RAPE IS BAD!! RAPE OUTSIDE OF A FICTIONAL SETTING IS NO GOOD!!" doesn't mean I advocate or actually want sexual assault or actual rape to happen to people in real life. I'm also worn out from seein' people sob and send death threats over fictional character rights moreso than they do for real life victims. The number of times I've been told to die and kill myself and other unsavory things just 'cause I was like "yo chill it's literally just a cartoon" despite the years of abuse I suffered as a fuckin' 5 year old is honestly enough to make me want to vomit.

Stop sayin' people are "screwed up" in the head just 'cause they don't take fictional abuse seriously or find certain darker themes to be hot or kinky. Chances are they are probably survivors themselves and it's not right to invalidate them if they aren't actually harmin' anyone in real life.

You went through stuff in the past and now you have some dark sexual desires; which I would be a fool to judge you for, but would you be willing to explore those dark-themed sexual desires with a partner against your will? Even with a rape kink, just like BDSM, consent is key; because you would give consent to your partner to explore that kink with you, and I'm sure you would agree with that.
So if someone says they get turned on by something that is being done against another person's will, then I believe they are sick because they are the same people who would blame a rape victim for being raped, saying they asked for it.
