So the ancestors of Ed that lady with blue eyes had the ability to basically remove negative energy using power other than mana hence that crystalline thingy and she decided rather than cure people that come to her why doesn’t she just remove all negative energy hence why the elf dude’s Dad said she was arrogant and her powers got to her head
Now the order created the weapon; a weapon that can be used to destroy negative stuff but it needs a medium hence why they use a human since it can’t survive on its own, it’s like as pure energy it can’t work but needs a host to survive;like a parasitic relationship and since fusing with the power thingy probably meant the order wiping all his memory and just turning Cliff into a weapon, that’s why he can’t remember his past and I guess everytime the demon king (which we don’t even know if the demon king isn’t just another out of control experiment by the order) shows it self spreading negative energy they fuse the power with a host called hero but after then the human is then sort of frozen in place until the next hero comes to fuse with them cause the energy would eventually take over the previous human and wait for a new vessel to move into, so it’s a cycle, a new hero emerges every time new danger arises.
Now this has been going on for a while and cliff-ssi after defeating the demon king and coming back escaped the order probably not wanting to be frozen up and used as an experiment for the next hero that’ll come hence why he still has reminant of the hero’s ability in him and why he ran to shell and since the power thingy is unstable and continues to need human body but no one will suffice
No one but cliff-ssi since he’s the original hero and didn’t complete his contract of being a vessel until the next hero comes, that’s why the fake cliff kept bringing humans to the thingy and they wouldn’t survive, it’s more like the gloopy thingy is sucking out life to maintain its physical state until cliff comes back to him, and they can’t like put the energy to sleep cause it’s out of control and the order can’t control it I guess
Now Ed is a descendant of the lady who probably started this all and has her ability to react to that energy other than mana and, and don’t forget that cliff-ssi has also made contact with the second form of energy other than Mana, now the more he utilizes the energy to save cliff-ssi who was the original hero who has been in contact with that second energy the more his life is drained
So more like cliff ssi is draining Ed’s life
Why? Because he’s naturally a vessel for the second energy so it can’t be helped that he’s draining Ed I feel like if it were mana maybe Ed may not be able to heal Cliff-ssi and Ed’s brother I think wants to reveal the truth behind what the order is doing using humans as lab rats for experiments and wants to destroy everything but they need cliff-ssi, for what? I don’t know yet but let’s watch and see

Woah I think you're right! I had a feeling Ivan, the older brother, kind of wants to destroy or maybe reform the Order? I also get the feeling that the whole Order itself is kind of fishy, and who really is the Demon King? The supposedly Saints too are giving me weird vibes. I really love this world building the artist created, I hope this series continues cause there's a lot of unresolved things still.
