i feel like “yeah we all hate jaekyung and he’s irredeemable”” is a pretty valid sentiment because he’s been so shitty, toxic and rapey. That being said; this is a BL and the genre spans so many different kinds of stories with different relationship dynamics so there’s not really an obligation for mingwa as the author to make it wholesome and shit. It’s her story and she chose to portray the characters in this way, and jaekyung’s behaviour and backstory is part of his character and character development. There’s a lot of worse BL tops out there!! mingwa crafted this story and that includes providing jaekyung’s backstory and developing him and dan’s relationship. Most of us are all gonna keep reading anyways lol so might as well follow the story and if you really despise it then don’t read. All im saying is that BJ alex wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows too and characters need to have an arc to reach a satisfying development. The hate is getting oversaturated so i just wanted to state an opinion.
