Yall know he is a kid right?? Kids at this age would learn nothing from an adult lecturing them about empathy especially if they deem every adult besides their parents as low or irrelevant. I know, I work with kids. I think the method she used was understandable. Is it perfect? No. But is it a method that can yield favorable results? Yeah. Are there other methods? Probably. But this method can actually help troubled children and its not like the heavy loading is done by the girl, she's mostly just being herself, making a friend while he is being exposed to more than beyond his own experiences and existence which is a human experience all of us go through. Yall act like in this world we never bump into other people who have problems or issues naturally and develop kinship with them or maybe it turned out bad but thats natural, part of growing up. The social state of a child is very fragile and easily influenced, if teachers or guardians add into the mix "friends" who can influence them in a good way, it shapes the child's social skills. Could this end badly for either child? Possibly. But it could also end wonderfully. I think its important to remember this is a story and stories, are most of the time, built on hope and positivity so try to take on that lens rather than dumb it down to reality which is unpredictable and unexpected most of the time anyways.

I think he’s older now after the most recent time-skip in chapter 25. A four-year age gap is nothing as long as both parties are adults (and no grooming was in the situation before adulthood, which there wasn’t in this case).

I feel like I’m a neutral party in this since I’m not a fan of either Kyle or Narkiss.
Kyle just has a one-sided crush with no backbone to pursue the MC. I know it’s purposeful from the author, but there really isn’t any compatibility between Kyle and the MC. Just because he likes her and they’re closer in age seems to be the main votes for why people want to pair them together, which I’m not a fan of overall because he did technically deceive her in the beginning by choosing not to tell her about his real position in the knighthood. It’s a form of lying through omission. He had plenty of chances to tell her, but he chose not to for like a year (or two, maybe) before it was revealed by an outside party.
As for Narkiss, he’s the typical tsundere-type lead who also has no visible backbone to pursue the MC (even now when he’s older). I know that will change as the story progresses. The only difference from Kyle is the power structure, pride, and arrogance of Narkiss. Like most MLs, Narkiss is super jealous and envious of anyone who has the MC’s attention. While I’m a sucker for white-haired characters, his personality is pretty much cut and paste of others from every story out there.
Now, I do really enjoy reading stories possessive MLs, but usually only if the MCs are getting a lot of love and attention at the same time. It’s cute how they seek their lovers’ affections all the time and the love is reciprocated.

DONT BE SORRY! i read thru all that and yeah I get ur point actually, i just thought kyle had more of a chance for a natural romance to occur since they are already closer while with Narkiss (altho the trope is good and personally, im into it too) felt very stiff and like not natural (idk how else to explain) but maybe it could change, who knows.
