    In Japan, gay marriage is not legal yet, so the closest way for gay couples to become one family is to adopt one partner into the other’s family. In this case, Shun’s parents will adopt Mio by adding him to their family registry, officially making Mio a Hashimoto family member, giving him benefits that only family members are entitled to (like hospital visits, inheritance, etc).

I'm so confused about the ending??? I thought she wanted to stay with midori-chan but then she left to go with her aunt? Why did she move out?
