In fact, it often makes the situation worse, which is why for a lot of people, fighting them off is not the first instinct. Secondly YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HIT SOMEONE FOR THEM TO LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU'RE NOT COMFORTABLE.
