after the last chapter a lot of us were hoping desperately for boris to save sehyun but i think it is an interesting choice on the author’s part to have boris not arrive in time. sehyun had to make his own choice in the moment, and while the sehyun from just a few chapters ago might have submitted to (cruel, cruel) fate, here he resists. i think (hope) that the moment sehyun recognises he does not have to tolerate assault is when his life turns around. not just boris, but sehyun himself has to believe he is worth more than this for him to really achieve salvation

Finding and cultivating one's self worth when they carry so much trauma is so difficult.. Love and support from your environment does help, but it also takes alot of commitment and definitely professional help to reach that. I hope the author shows that how that's realistically possible, even though it's very challenging and a very long process.
