well the word slut is super offensive. The only person or character I would call a slut is a prostitute and that's only if they had a reason like the fact they liked prostituting themselves. Like slut is the very last word I would use for this character because it's so offensive/derogatory. I think the character sleeps with a lot of people and is insensitive but I wouldn't call him a slut. I might call him fast but that's it. I mean, he's a jerk and a playboy so...yea I think I made my point clear.

I wasn't saying that this is my favorite character and I wasn't coming for you. In this paragraph, you ask us not to think you're being rude or offensive but you generalize and assume things. I said he's a playboy bc that's the word I would use. I was trying to make my argument more about the word itself and not the character. The word "slut" is offensive and disrespectful in any way it's used, even if the character sleeps around. Even if I hated the character, I would say mean things but I wouldn't use the word slut. Like you said, we're different people with different opinions, but the fact that you wrote this long paragraph with lots of generalizations about him being my favorite character or anybody's favorite character and saying that we're "coming for you" sounds defensive, passive aggressive, and rude. If nobody is supposed to have sex then how are people gonna be born? There's nothing wrong with what you said. It's just the usage of the word "slut" has a lot of negative connotations with it so people are going to start a conversation about it. I think the take away from this thread really is to acknowledge the history of the word "slut" and how it may affect and create a negative image to people. Understand the weight of the word and grow on this topic. People are only now reclaiming the word slut as an empowering word but that still doesn't erase the true negative impact the word has had throughout our history towards women, feminine gay men and gender conforming people. A lot of alternative words can be player, mananizer, playboy, promiscuous, debauchee or even just saying "casually sleeping around." You don't need to use these but it can be better than negatively referring to someone as a slut.
P.s. Slut can be used positively
