Okay now it makes sense why chikan didn’t give his phone number to kou. He was still being harassed by masaki and knows how much of sadist he is and didnt want kou to be involved. This is true because chiakis father died at some point in college in which he dropped out to run the business, and chiaki didnt care if masaki threatened him anymore cuz he litteraly has no friends and his dad is dead so he no longer has anything to lose, so that was the best opportunity to cut ties with masaki. NOW IT MAKES SENSE :)
