Whatever happened to the villains? Wasn't there a pink-haired girl, a redhead guy and the crown prince or something? I can't even remember when they last showed up. I like the story, but I feel like we left the plot behind for capitalism

Don't forget that Abel has lost his family, town, a father figure/mentor, and his life. He doesn't speak about death lightly and understands when force is needed. He's the character who has currently experienced the most death in the novel. Just because my guy is goofy and overly optimistic doesn't mean he doesn't understand war, in my opinion, I think he understands it the most.

The only time the King spends father and son time with Joffery is these yearly hunting trips, which are just a front for his affair to cheat on his mom. The disrespect is insane. Also, for the blonde to claim being the victim when actively still meeting up with the king is willlllld. Like yeah, the queen hates you, you're f*cking her husband. For her to immediately ask a favour from the child whose home she wrecked is so shameless (also, there's no way she doesn't know the hunting trip lie when she's been meeting up with the guy for years) I would also crash out if I was Joffery or the Queen
Not to be pessimistic (and please correct me if I'm wrong), but what's the point of continuing this fake relationship if it's not working? Like the brother is still making numerous attempts on the MC's life, and the ML is not offering any protection either (in fact, I would argue, he's even added additional harm to the MC physically and mentally). So I'm just confused where this story is going because wouldn't it be better to flee the country now? Or change just plans? I don't see any benefit to staying with the ML at this point.
Brett is one of the most interesting characters I've ever read.
Sorry for the rant I'm about to do, and I know it's going to piss some people off. But I'm tired of ML's never taking accountability for their actions.
What's worse is he knows that what he says and does is unfair and hurts the MC's feelings but he doesn't ever try to make up for it or improve his behaviour. He knows he has a victim complex that he projects onto the MC and that he coerced him into a relationship and yet he hasn't apologized, taken accountability and continues to make excuses.
This entire relationship completely relies on the MC having no support system, being too nice, and a pushover. He overshares because he has no one outside of work that he can talk and complain to, outside of the ML. Coupled with the MC being constantly steamrolled and abused at work makes it so he can brush off the ML's crappy behaviour. If the MC had any sort of support system/friends, he and the ML wouldn't have moved an inch forward and he would still hate him (it's the proximity principle in effect).
Also before someone mentions the desserts, it is the least he can do considering he threatened him into this contract and continuously crosses lines and acts rude (tbh he's barely doing anything).
Their relationship is barely surface-level. I fell off my chair when the MC started having feelings because GIRL STAND UP. I'm tired of storylines having ppl fall in love just because physical intimacy is involved.
Anyway, that's my rant. Thank you for reading if you got this far. If anyone has spoilers about this story, please share them with me as I can't decide if I will drop this story or not.
