No one said it was ok for her to neglect her child but are you forgetting that postpartum depression is a very real and very serious issue that thousands of women go through. Nowadays, women are offered emotional support(including therapy), have protective services, and usually have someone to back them up and help them through it. FL had to go through postpartum depression with none of that at an incredibly young age because of societal pressure and cultural norms. I'm not saying it was ok for her to neglect her child but at least she's trying. So many mothers just abandon their child without looking back even once and they're perfectly sane. At least she's making an effort for her son.

I don't remember what chapter it was but in one of the chapters she was pregnant the DOCTOR literally says: "depression won't do any good to you or your baby", it was also shown through all the falshbacks that she had post partum depression, i just know you don't even know what it is bc you'd know that the INTRUSIVE thought of " i hate my child " is one of the most common symptoms. No one is trying to justify but there's a reason behind everything and the fact that you're saying this implies that you haven't read all the chapters or you haven't understand ANYTHING and only read what you wanted, if you don't like the MC why are you even still reading it, there's no point in reading a story that you don't understand with a MC that you don't like.
