I always hated the mom. I knew the brother was trash but I always placed primary blame on the mom and everyone told me I was wrong. And maybe I am, but the mom is still the biggest piece of garbage who is still presently abusing her adoptive child. That mandatory picture frame is diabolical!!
Do you guys know that I made it to chapter 50 before I realized that the people on the cover were the same person. I kept waiting for the other main character to appear….

Honestly something about Guwon has always been a red flag to me. However I don’t like how the townspeople just eliminated their own guilt from the situation. We’re “weak” and “cowardly” it doesn’t count cause he’s stronger than us. No, sorry it absolutely does count. Why raise your hand but then try to plead with him to give the kid medicine after the fact? Isn’t he dead because he stole the medicine to begin with? These chain of events are horrid and they are horrible people.
I’m getting kinda annoyed with this story. It’s REALLY good, but I’m frustrated because I care more about the family dynamics than her personal relationships. Obviously, I have my favorite that I would want her to pick but none of the guys would make a horrible choice. They’re great guys, but they get a lot of dialogue and always take up a chunk of the chapters. I just want her to pick one so we can move on.
LISTEN I’m all for 2nd MLs BUT that other guy REEKSSSS of predator! I keep telling myself that there has to be more to the story and their relationship. Maybe he’s not just some old gangster that beat up his dad collecting money while he was an under age higher schooler. Helping him run away from home and escape the crazy bullying is one thing, sexual advances and demanding answers about his private life are another, idk.
The daddy is annoying. I have more hope for the mom but it’s not looking too good for her either.
I don’t like to say someone is copying another because these themes are honestly so common, but come on. They could have at least changed the hair colors up.
1 time sure, 2 times is pushing it, 3-4 times??? Completely unrealistic and unnecessary for the plot. I refuse to believe that she came back more than once.
The most striking aspect was the community vote. I never suspected them and I thought most of them were decent people.
Rereading the chapter and I’m annoyed all over again. The king is truly a narcissist and will make everything about himself. Edgar was just trying to do the right thing now he has to listen to a story about his uncle offing himself. Knowing that Lillian died in that tower tells me that they didn’t successfully escape and it was most likely the king’s fault.
All this time I thought there was another blonde haired kid that he raised that pointed his sword at him, but it’s been Edgar who was trying to help Lillian escape the tower this entire time? I don’t recall Lilliana remembering Edgar in her past life?
I love all her family members, except for the older brother. I think the reason he’s the only one that still fell victim to the hypnosis is because he was never receptive of Penelope. Everyone else in their own unique way opened up to her, and so their endings changed. His ending remained exactly the same.
