Honestly I'm not a fan of romance but I believed if it was executed well in story it will be a good addition. Although there are some story out there that is not suited for romance I think there are also story that deserves romance it's just that sometimes the way they write is a little bit off. Besides I believed his new life is about taking the other path he took before didn't he married not for love so maybe this time they're trying to build his romance. Like you don't expect that every character in a story will stay bachelor for their whole life right?
I think Diana is confident to attend this ceremony because she thought that Kael still has a thing for her but Kael showed them that he's happy with Hestia and made her standing more firm by calling her in that platform. And one thing I've noticed Helios doesn't give attention to Diana like even it showed that Diana is looking to Kael and Hestia, it seems like he knows but didn't bother anymore.
