it's definitely that, the captain that mc was with dumped him due to him being taller and no longer what we call a twink, therefore mc gone through a. depressive episode bc I believe the he was in love with the captain that's why he wished that he didn't grew taller, and he sorta gets his wish granted in the form of the shrinking disease, that's also why whenever he's in his twink state he'll always look for other tall & big men to fck to stimulate that feeling when he was doing it with the captain.
