I enjoyed the “a love not possible” theme here here. The story reminded me of several European stories that involved a queer romance such as Maurice. Gib them reccs!

The beginning was fine but then it just kept pacing itself at such a rate that it became intolerable. Whoever did the official translation flopped at some parts because which high school kid says “post-meal” or “assemble by.” Just say “group up” or “after lunch” bruh.

Perhaps the excruciating pace was made to demonstrate the short, yet what feels like to us a lifetime full of teen angst and first-love we feel in our youth (the title), but meh.

SPOILERS FROM HERE:

In addition, the story incorporated bunch of tropes thag just furthered it’s narrative as nothing more than average. The gay tutor felt unnecessary, the sharing a bed thing was weird, school trip, the trash can full of condoms, etc. The author was clearly trying to use tropes as ways to develop the relationship with the main characters but at tines it just came off as comedic, and took away what could have been such a beautiful, realistic story of exploring homosexual teen love against social pressures. Tropes are fine but in this case it just felt absurd and left a bad taste on my mouth.

This is not to say the story was not enjoyable. I definitely enjoyed the more slice-of-life parts and scenes where they learned more about who they are and their sexuality. Shoutout to chapter 41. I also thought the later arc around 45 where Heechan’s “gang” and the bully victim’s attempted suicide added a more deeper complexity and realism to the story as well. The story from then on became much more better and honestly if this arc was placed earlier instead of some of the filler we got, my rating would have improved.

But overall, it was a very average story. I would be curious to see other opinions though, but after reading it again tis was not as good as I remembered.

3/5

Such a simple premise executed perfectly. I have no complaints. Honestly, the chapters felt like the right amount. I feel like when dealing with more vulnerable, and intimate stories like these you can’t always draw it out for so long. This felt like the perfect amount of “burn” and Upi did great. Praying for english physicals.

…on the day, that you love me too (chapter 39).

So beautifully written and heartwrenching. Although the premise is full of cliques, the story transforms them into something beautiful and imaginary. Truly a phenomenal piece — one that is only created every decade or so. Jinx, take notes sweetie.

But one cannot deny this is truly one of the better fap pieces there is ladies. Like, take a look at whatever the fuck placebo is and compare it to this. Thats manhwa for ya.

minalberine January 2, 2024 2:41 pm

The average manhwa authors should take notes on how to write like this, especially that Mingwa and Byeongha person. Seriously, this is some top of the crop stuff we got here. You go Yuki Ringo.
