I'm sad that Yeonwoo still thinks of himself that way but he does have a point. You can't force someone to love you just because you have feelings; the main problem here is we just don't know if Haesol does or does not have feelings for Yeonwoo (cause trauma be trauma'ing and could be confusing her), which makes Yeonwoo think he's selfish and impure by love. It's not wrong to want the person you like share mutual feelings but it can't be force and Haesol's lack of communication and behavior, it looks like the feelings are forced.
I'm so happy at Yeonwoo's character development cause he took the first step to recognizing his flaws and healing and thus breaking up with Haesol. Hopefully it shocks Haesol towards learning to speak her emotions and asking for help but it could also go the wrong direction in her spiraling again.

Haesol has a very serious problem and it would require lots and lots of help to get it through her head that its okay to express what she wants. This situation isn't a simple problem with a simple solution cause who knows what else Haesol went through and how worse it got throughout the years.
This also screams people-pleaser and "good child" to the extreme that I honestly don't know how Haesol would react after the breakup (if spoilers are correct) but hopefully, it's shocking enough that makes Haesol react and realize that her feelings and what she wants matters too.
