Rei being the mum's bf ruined it for me . I got so pissed at tsubaki like how can u fuck ur mum's bf and call it being selfish easily !! What if she's actually in love with him aren't u breaking her heart!! He's at least 16yo so he's able to think this much. This is the type of charas i hate the most Screw ur own feelings if it costs ur mum's happiness and pride. Sorry thumbs down.
Were we reading the same manga? The boy was not selfish for alot of things in his life. He was lonely so he grasped to the person who he thought can cure it. His mother is the reason for his loneliness that caused him to be susceptible to the man's manipulation. He is vulnerable and the man used that against him while the mother allowed the man who she obviously barely knew to be next to him. Whose fault is that? The mother couldn't even properly protect her child from being manipulated.
And you want to blame the uke? It must be so easy to read things in such a straightforward manner without thinking things through, huh.
But i don't think raphie is in love with the king! He's still even visiting grain's grave . That ruined it for me because for me the main couple is grain and raphie it can't be any other way.

For any confused with this confusing manga, here's what I got:
Ok so the first chapter skips time very suddenly. Here's what I got. First the main dude goes to the art gallery and sees the artist dropping coins. This is one week after the sensei is discovered dead so he's sad. Then the manga skips forward in time to them sleeping together. You can tell because the scarf he's wearing is a different colour, in the present it's a light coloured scarf but when it skips to the future he's wearing a dark coloured scarf.
Chapter 2 shows the first time they sleep together, in the present after main guy goes to the art gallery. We also learn about the sensei who presumably abused him in the past and so the artist has a lot of feelings of shame, worthlessness etc. I'm predicting he'll be reluctant to get into an emotional relationship so they'll be in a physical one first, where when it snows the main guy goes to his house to "warm him up" (the future scenes indicate this.)
The other confusing part is when it says like "I wanted to do something about my fear so I made use of this guy's interest in me." I'm fairly certain this is the artist talking not the main guy, because of things he says later.
So that's it, if anyone has anything to add please do, such pretty art so a shame story is so hard to decipher. Hope you found that helpful!
I think the story started out in the past. Around time Kazushi started high school, his older brother recommended him to go see an art exhibit about winter and snow. There, he saw a work showing Rui, whom he often saw at the bus stop. He later met a crying Rui on the stairs above a fountain at the exhibit.
Fast forward to three years later (current time), Kazushi first rides a bus on a snowy day, then his older brother gives him a ride from the bus stop to his apartment (I'm guessing, which he shares with Rui). He shoves the snow away, goes inside, and proceeds to make love with Rui.
Then start of second chapter, Kazushi is fast asleep as Rui recalls what happened after their meeting at the art exhibit. Rui was depressed that the art teacher whom he was close to died (possibly from a suicide) because of rumors about their relationship. From what was being said, it sounded like Rui was only with the teacher as a model for his painting and stayed at the art school a lot because his parents were never home. But the parents of the other kids at the art school suspected there was something else going on between them and reported the teacher to landowner and forced the teacher of the art class to quit. He later died and was on the news, which was what Kazushi's heard at the beginning of the first chapter. Rui felt lonely and forced himself upon Kazushi, and started their relationship, which has been going on for three years.
Kazushi wakes up and they have more sex, but unlike Kazushi, who seems to be very much in love with Rui and enjoys their current relationship, Rui feels guilty about dragging Kazushi into his mess, and wants an end to it.
As it is difficult to tell the characters' age, the mangaka gives hints about the passage of time in other ways:
On chapter 1 page 8, it says the exhibit runs from "(2015.)11.8 - 2016.1.10", then on chapter 1 page 17, someone is heard on the radio saying "back in 2017", and later Kazushi mentions a memory from 3 years ago, so there must be a 3 year gap between their meeting (page 13) and current time (page 14). Chapter 2 explains what happened between pages 13 and 14 of the first chapter (when Rui recalls their meeting at the exhibit, as Kazushi sleeps soundly), as well as the reasons why it happened, and foreshadows of an impeding separation between them. We learned from chapter 2 the current date is December 30th (I don't know whether it's 2017 or 2018, but if it were 2017, then it hasn't been 3 years, so I'm guessing 2018...)
