I just checked again, Anastacius was the kid that Lucas rejected for being talentless. So Anastacius came back to the palace after stealing Lucas's mana when he was in search for the world tree. Lucas got very mad after knowing this fact and to add the oil to his flaming anger, he found out that Anastacius was the reason why Clause used black magic AND made Athy sad and has that mana explosion when she was a kid.

Yes he did kill her but the man like literally cursed himself with black magic to forget diana so he didn't even remember he had a DAUGHTER until he saw her when she was 9 which was too late because the curse fully toik over him and he didn't even know why he hates her too much.. NOT DEFENDING HIM like the man killed his own daughter and if the first time line was the main story i would have hated him like hell SO.
