I always felt that there was something inconsistent with the ml's character writing,like the ludwig before the timeskip is completely different from the ludwig after the timeskip,so i decided to check the novel out.I haven't really read the novel but from I've gathered,the ml's personality is completely different. In the novel,he's actually a psychopath who loves killing and did horrible things to get his hands on fl. Most of the novel readers hate him. Also unlike the mahwa version,he never feels any remorse for the things he's done and in his 2nd lifetime,he still kills innocent ppl,he just makes sure that fl doesnt find out about it. In the manhwa, he's just a puppet to the entity in his body and is an idiot in love. So im guessing that initially they were going to stick to the novel version but maybe later decided that everyone will hate the ml,so they changed his character. I prefer the change,i feel the current ludwig has so much more personality to him and you dont really see many mls with his personality.Honestly you can't even say he's been whitewashed coz the both are 2 different characters. Also I think it would have been interesting if they stuck with ludwigs original personality but instead made him feel remorse and try to genuinely become a better person.

Fl goes back in time after her family was killed by her ex fiance and a sorcerer. She decides that she needs to make her bratty brother fit for the throne by becoming an even bigger brat than him. If you want cold blooded revenge,you won't get that here but despite the ending is still satisfying(although i finish it was fleshed out a little more). I really liked that the villain has proper reasons for their motives rather than them just being evil or greedy.

There's no inner monologue, everything is depicted through their body language,the way they touch eachother and dialogues. It might be boring to some since there's not much of plot and each chapter is short but every panel is packed with such minute details which I love. Marriage of convenience trope. They develop feeling pretty quickly and both are idiots in love tbh. There are few trivial misunderstandings which get resolved quickly. The Ml is a yandere which is a guilty pleasure of mine. One thing I really like abt this is that we see a lot of ml's pov which I'm a sucler for. I love romances from the ml's pov. There's nothing really that deep abt the story but it's a lighthearted read when you're the mood for something wholesome and cliche.
