srs answer from someone who was in alot of failed relationships so ik what not to do, asking ur friend out and him accepting is like a fairytail, if you break up you will NEVER talk again so its not worth it imo, depends on how he feels try to get outside forces to lowkey get the train moving and if hes out off then quit
