So what happens when the sacrifice isn't eaten? Does the head family not receive the blessing(s)? I feel like if that happens, they'll come to kill MC instead. Like a repeat of their past life. Or maybe they'll induce MC to commit suicide. We know that MC's family needs the money for his sibling's education and his father's illness. It said in the earlier chapters that the sacrifice's family will be rich only after the 3-year funeral.

But the head family doesn't know that. To them, being sacrificed means dying. Only then do other people get the benefit. They pretty much neglect and abuse the side branches before the purpose of the sacrifice is fulfilled. I'm scared of what might happen if they see that MC is alive and well. Will they think MC isn't doing his job properly?
I'm pretty sure mugo won't let the head do shit to mc family tho... seeing the current chapter that he let that well God go, if the head hurt his family, mugo might let their blessings go.
They took away everything comfortable and familiar of course the baby is gonna be distressed. This is just gonna add on to mori's already existing trauma like this is the second time scary beings kidnapped him and took him away violently.
