His brother didn’t try to kill him. The purpose was to try and make Vlad F up the hunt so their clan would get the kill instead and gain control over the north. It started working when the dragon started fleeing and failed when Vlad broke out of the trance.
Also disagree on your take about the redhead, but it’s all subjective anyway. And since it’s already cemented in the novel, I guess none of our opinions would change anything about that.

just because they are childhood friends does not mean they automatically have chemistry. They have more of a sibling vibe its weird trying to force the romance
It's all subjective anyway. Some of us find them perfect together and some of you don't. I've seen characters who feel like siblings before and those two don't give me that vibe at all. Personally, I find that there's a reason why they see each other as family rather than siblings. The fact is they matter that much to each other without closing the door to the romance aspect. Anyway, I'm guessing you're pissed because you've seen spoilers about them.
