It started promising but it turned out quite absurd. I read the first few chapters and then dropped it but didn't want to post something about it since it always feels kind of shitty to post something very negative about a story everybody seems to enjoy. However, since the opinion about it seems to change I think I can post it now.
Honestly, I'm not surprised that you think this is turning into a comedy. A good serial killer thriller should be realistic. It should make you feel like this could actually happen and give you the opportunity to theorize about it. But nothing in this story makes sense.
He's supposed to be this great mystery author who even tells people how to write a good killer and yet he does everything wrong himself. He murders people who can easily be associated with him. He kills them inside an apartment building which makes it incredibly difficult to get rid of the bodies and very unlikely that your neighbors never hear anything suspicious. He also doesn't even bother to cover at least the floor when he stabs them, he just gets blood everywhere. During the first chapter (I think) he even took his phone out of his jacket while his hand was covered in blood. He also puts the bloody corpses on his couch and his very white bed. And let's not forget how that idiot hired a blind prostitute because apparently blind people can't smell blood or corpses in this universe.
But hey, since the police is so useless in this story that they think getting several phone calls within a short amount of time about that guy murdering people is just a prank, he can be as bad at it as he wants to because conveniently enough, nobody will investigate him. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that they haven't even realized that there's an active serial killer in their area despite the fact that he keeps on killing people at an alarming rate.
Honestly there's a lot more that makes no sense but I think I got my point across (￣∇￣"). This story is so ridiculous, if I didn't know better I'd think it's a parody. And I'm also not surprised that it seems to be going nowhere since there was never a solid fundament for a proper story anyways.
I got say, I agree with everything but I still enjoy this. I never realized that I enjoyed because how absurdo it was and that I was seeing with as a comedy before reading your rant. You summarize everything that I have been thinking about subsconciently while reading this but didn't know how to put into words or why I was feeling that way.

I would suggest you watch the movie andhadhun on netflix (i think you can watch it in english as well tho its an indian movie) they made the movie with similar plot but its actually so much better that i dropped this over how ridiculous it was lmao

Riku gets jealous after the party incident with that rival guy who is close to Keiki. He starts to question his relationship with Keiki and cannot help thinking he just can't compete with that rival since Keiki is a high class alpha while Riku is basically just a random omega orphan with no status and no fortune. He then goes on a lunch with his high school friend (the one that has a crush on him) and his friend confirms his doubts and tells him Keiki is probably just using him since they are a match and he just wants to make him pregnant and have the baby.
Riku goes back home, ready to pack his stuff and leave. Keiki arrives and sees him mad. Riku then bursts into tears and tells him he won't just stay with him until he gets pregnant and he will leave back to his parents house so they better end this weird relationship. Keiki is confused and hugs Riku very tight. He tells him he doesn't like Riku because he is his match but he likes him for who he is. Riku then realizes that he just can't keep denying his feelings for Keiki and confesses his feelings to him saying: I LOVE YOU. Keiki is kinda shocked but also moved. He takes him to the bedroom and they make love.

The characters drawn on the novel's cover are way prettier than the ones in the manhwa. Too bad they didn't make them similar. The seme there looks more manly while the one in the manhwa has soft features... most likely to please the asians fans taste ://

this.... theyre just completely different styles drawn by two different artists..... both who are korean lol. its very unlikely for the novel cover’s kind of style to be turned into a webtoon bc the style suits more for illustrations than comics. nothing to do with “pleasing asian fans taste”, or whatever that means.

Makes sense but notice how the seme in the webtoon has a very generic look, barely manly and almost indistinguishable from other webtoons semes. They ccould've at least make his features more masculine and close to the book cover. I don't know why most recent webtoons follow the same drawing trends and make their characters with soft features and all look alike. It's annoying I thought it could be due to Korean's taste because Korean men have quite soft and feminine features compared to other countries. Have you ever watched a successful K-drama with a bearded male character? I hope I am not offending anyone by sharing my impression on that topic. As a latin girl, I just have opposite beauty standards when it comes to men and masculinity in general.
As I said, it’s just not feasible to make detailed features in webcomics. You want them quick and easy to draw, hence why most webtoons are more cartoony and usually have a same-face syndrome. And personally, I wouldn’t say the no el cover itself is more “masculine” anyway. It’s just a different style. As mentioned, both illustrations are drawn by korean artists for korean audience. In fact, this particular style is very common amongst other korean novel covers. So yeah...... while you might not mean any offense, it does sound like you’re stereotyping.

The picture quality of this manhwa is insane!! Every panel looks like a screenshot from a high quality animated movie. It looks almost like 3D. The plot is original too. Very promising so far!
But why the uke was all blushing with that blondie bitch and accepted his request to be closer?? Like, what on earth was going through his mind? He acted like he was in love or something!
