Omg I didn't expect this twist, wow. I see people here bashing Yuki again, I hope y'all understand that YUKI IS THE KEY FACTOR of this story. His name will be repeating to show their struggles. Pls understand this a story about trauma and their life after Yuki's death.
I get the reason to why people are frustrated over Mafu still stuck over Yuki and dating Ue. But I hope y'all realise how impo Yuki's presence is in this story. It's because of Yuki's death that Mafu found a new passion. As long as this story continues, Yuki will be mentioned over and over again. The author will continue to show the impact he had over Mafu because he is a really impo character to show Yuki's struggles.
I'm so happy that Mafu found what he loves. He's got good friends, a good boyfriend and a good band w him. He now wants his music to reach and give comfort. This manga is very realistic, even after finding new love, it shows that, mafu still struggles a little with Yuki and is traumatised. His nightmares have turned in lil comforting dreams but more than anything, he's happy and loves performing.I can't wait too see how far Mafu goes, how far Uenoyama goes, how far the band goes.
Don't expect romance in Given like any stereotypical bl plot. This is much more than just romance, its a broken story about grieve and trauma. It's going to be heavy cause the weight that Mafu carries will not vanish easily. Yuki is not a part of Mafu's past, YUKI IS HIS PAST. It might be frustrating but pls, understand that Yuki and Mafu were legit soul mates. And even thou, Mafu likes Ue rn, it's going to take him long and long to forget Yuki. This is not a perfect romance story, it never will be. Accept them to be broken characters
Exactly. Mafuyu and Ue will just have to deal with the fact that Mafu will never ever get over Yuki 100% and that's alright. It doesn't make Mafu selfish or unfair towards Ue, it's a death of a lover through suicide. He will carry that his whole life because Mafuyu and Yuki truly belonged to each other and the amount of their history and love even makes that gaping hole in Mafuyu's heart more persistent. There will never ever be a closure. Sadly.
Yuki wasn't just Mafuyu's lover or boyfriend, they were best friends since childhood too. You can't leave that fact out or forget it, it's incredibly important.
Hence, me talking about their history together. Them being best friends is part of said history, is it not? Therefore, I didn't forget about it.
I've read tons of dark/messed up stories and this was is just an utter chaos lmao. The plot sucks and is very predictable

Aw man, the ending was beautiful. Him not wearing his glasses anymore with a radiant and satisfied w life smile was lovely
