Rereading the author's works but so far the ones I've read are unfinished, if not, one shots. It seems like she's scared to end her stories.
I know kagi jumped the gun with that kiss but considering how well he knows Hirano he probably knows he's not going to get the answer he wants. Hirano wants to be with him, but his feelings just aren't romantic and it's probably going to be that this kiss finally pushed his feelings over the edge cause he's got to realize he doesn't hate it cause it's a BL and that's usually how this goes, but in reality it probably wouldn't go that way and I think kagi is probably taking it as a just once before he has to accept that his feelings won't be reciprocated in the way he wants.
